The Ocean at the End of the Lane

Rating:

4 out of 5 Gaimans

What's It About?

In short, a man returns to his hometown to bury his father. While there he starts to have a flood of memories take over him. Memories of his childhood and the older girl who became his friend and protector. Any further information would spoil the book. The less you know going into it, the better you will enjoy the overall story.

Review:

As stated above, the less you know the better the story will be. With that in mind, I can only say that this is definitely worth your time if you enjoy creepy stories that don't delve too far into gorish territory. This is suitable for YA readers and above.

Extra Credit:

Neil Gaiman pulled from his childhood to write this book. Many stories and songs that he loved as a child get a brief mention throughout this short novel.
